year's end where the world is
December 2014
rats dog, god star,
evil emit reviled deliver time live
live morf from evil
lights out—
what word is left
for this?
for God's sake
turn out
the lights
hissing light—
the sound of darkness
on the street
first cicada—
a lawnmower competes
in the distance
crackling ice—
vapour infused gin
cools the sun
longer days—
my eyes zero in on
the milky way
boxing day
my eyes squint between
here and now
blessed be he
who gives his blessings
the light he sees
in the mud of the mundane
shall be his inheritance
advent ends—
an unapproachable light
enters the tent
solstice—
9pm and still
the sun's light
darkness wavers
at its lowest ebb
solstice night
unborn babe,
do you breathe also
your absence?
torpid sun
the shadow of me
bends to my will
low cloud
my mind enters
its limits
morning call—
not clear in this heat
the sense of it
the way of the rose—
the rouged cheeks of dalliance
no longer quench me
sun shafts—
golden streams flush out
a peed ant
this silence
dwelling still before
change is
the milky way
sowing seeds
of contemplation
haiku
another out of line
viscous night—
shadows suffocating
on darkness
sparrow dusk—
a wind swallows up
the last words
regardless
the coffin's descent
inch by inch
winds wailing
against macrocarpas . . .
such stillness
sheltering
behind macrocarpas . . .
the warmth within
morning cool—
a variety of birds
rise in song
the play
of shadows passing
for a god
ground fog . . .
a swan stretches out
the hush
