a slow worm
inches away at
being brief
cloud billows
accumulating
yesterdays
after the storm
a sparrow mounts its mate
time after time
uh oh!
the earth springs
its trap
starless night
I search for the words
that don't need me
night after night
words furrowing our brows
till the Silence
in falling
the weight of wetness
clouds belie
there again
annihilation silenced
by the stars
drip by drip
somewhere within this
dewfall still
cloud of light
a transfiguration
over Hiroshima
early mass
a divine silence
takes me in
my shadow
lost to the dark night
of the soul
my poem
and twilight ends
in itself
