night fever —
parting from itself,
lightning's sound
October 2012
misty horizon —
a pearl diver's dress ripples
on the shore
lingering cold —
dewdrops trickle from
the brazier
pea shoots . . .
earth breaks open
with questions
moonless night —
shadows distil raindrops
under the basho
wind change —
lilacs suffusing
sea spray
lightning storm —
what blades disembowel
bloated clouds?
blades of fire
disembowelling clouds —
spring reverie
violent dawn ...
a blade of light slices open
the blackbird's song
low tide —
an old man wades into
ancient silence
glistening dawn —
a pearl-coloured louse
adorns her hair
haloed moon —
moreporks intone silence
between stars
weeping willow —
what now holds the silence
at bay?
falling leaves —
over distant horizons,
my aging dreams
fallen leaves —
over the horizon
blossoms
wind shift —
blossoms make
their move
night falls
with the sound of rain —
folding blooms
darkening night —
the via negativa
birthing stars
mantling clouds —
the smoke of frankincense
inhales me
southerly change —
a painter divines faces
within shadows
why not equal,
my shadow, my future?
spring dusk
shadows of words
distilling a universe —
spring morning
moonless night —
this hallucination
of a spring death
green leaves crest
from within folds of mist —
rainforest spring
weeping willow —
there rises from a flute
the mist of age
White Sunday —
frangipani incenses
a child's blessing
how much longer?
tender young leaves budding
for their fall
an arrow
strains in the crossbow —
brewing storm
howling trees . . .
an autumn wind weaves
its story
without sound
all through the night —
a tui's lament
